Welcome to the Eastlake Elementary Blog

We are excited to use this technology to let you know some of the terrific things happening at Eastlake each week.  Our goal is to update the blog once or twice a week.  Give us feedback--let us know what you like and what you would like to see us put on the blog in the future.

There has been so much happening.  On August 26th (C Track September 7th), we had our Leader in Me Kickoff Assembly, during which Eastlake students learned concepts from the book, "7 Habits of Happy Kids".  Ask your students about the hand signals for 7 Habits.  You will be hearing more about his program throughout the school year.

In conjunction with South Jordan International Days in August, Chinese dancers in beautiful costumes performed an assembly for the children.

City Councilmember Leona Winger visited Eastlake to help with our Road to Success Kickoff.  Eastlake Dragons--remember to read!!  Students will receive 1 ticket each week for reading five days (twenty minutes per day).  They can earn 1 additional ticket for reading more than 100 minutes each week.  The first bike drawing will be held in October!

We had a great turn out ot our recent Power Skills Workshop, "Improving Reading Skills", taught by our literacy facilitator, Bev Griffith, and our resource team lead, Christie Jarrard.  We will introduce a different topic each month on the second Wednesday of the month.  The workshops are free and all parents are invited to participate.
